Going Through Dark Times is Part of the Journey

Maybe your life has looked a little like mine. You've had your ups and downs, surprises that were great and surprises you could definitely have done without.

Who you've been and what you've done has morphed and changed and you've course corrected to accommodate the revisions and elevations of yourself, your work, and your focus many times. Some might say you lack focus, others might roll their eyes.

Perhaps you've had moments where you felt like everything was out to de-rail you, or everything seemed to fall in place almost too well, questioning those successes and failures to the point of paralysis and self sabotage.

I want you to consider for a moment, that is the work. And you're on the right path. You just need to focus and stay active in the pursuit of your body of work.

It will not look like you think it should. And I don't think we'd want it to either. But then again, I am still on that expedition, so maybe I'll change my tune when I get to wherever I am going.

Here to Help Humans Create and Be Creative

Maya and I have been journeying together running a creative company together for almost 15 years, ever since we got married. For a while, our work overlapped significantly, but over time, we began to focus more independently, going our separate ways to pursue different things. Despite this, as we reflect on our journey, we realize that our mission has always remained aligned. We were always heading in the same direction.

We expressed our destination in many ways over the years. There were a few moments where we thought we'd arrived. And if you'd have asked us at those moments in the past, we might have believed that it our paths did not intersect and overlap. But as I look back (A critical exercise by the way, I can see that we never ventured off too far down the divergent path. It has always come back to a single objective and will continue to be singular in its focus.

We are here help humans create and be creative. Because that is what we do—as creatives, as humans, as people striving to achieve meaningful things in this world. Our purpose is to pursue our body of work and help others who are ready, do the same.

There are no guarantees anything you do will succeed.

"Have faith, not hope. Hope is a beggar. Hope walks through the fire, faith leaps over it" - Jim Carey

The safe road is just as uncertain, just as risky and unpredictable as venturing off on your own. Maybe you don't believe you can fully yet, and that's ok, because if there's even a small flavor of "id like to, or "if only", you're ready. That's what makes it so beautiful. And it's scary to go there.

There are no guarantees that you will make it. Because it's messy and rarely goes how you think it should. It's also unavoidable. You cannot avoid the chaos of creativity and I'm here to tell you that you don't want to either!

Its necessary to experience the unpredictable present, because that is where the ideas and magic arises.

But we must also be mindful of stretching and expanding prematurely. Knowing when to explore the new and unfamiliar and when to double down and have a single focus. Knowing when to say yes, and when to stand resolute in your no.

No One Will Keep Your Drive Alive But You

You have an opportunity of a life time, but your lifetime will not wait for you to pursue the opportunity. If you keep waiting for the perfect time, The elusive perfect time will always keep you waiting. The perfect opportunity does not show up, it is created. By you.
